Androids Thanks
« on: January 24, 2010, 05:50:01 PM »
So it was actually the 1st Androids w/out a robot, and i was exhausted by a week of dog-searching, but the turnout was really strong, and the night went off in spite of my lack of energy - Cnb more than made up for my lack of social graces, and after setting up sound/lights, i was more than content to be 3rd door sentry.

Good crowds always make the night run smoother, and i thought the sound was just right for that space.
The lights were minimal, it's a "dungeon" after all, and downlow, barisone and vibesquad completed each other and played solid sets that got great responses - i should have only played Leona Andersons' "Fish" as it turns out, but now that our chihua is found and home, I'm going to put a vendetta-style effort into "Fur".
surprise psilogod visit was a bonus,
a generic "thanks" to the 190+ who turned out to our annual 'intimate' venue event, and now that my contact high has worn-off, it's time for a $10 pizza.

d6,
room cleaner, janitor, and otherwise maintenance-inclined blowhard

glad the show went off! i missed vibesquad at stilldream and was very impressed with the 45 minutes I heard at Androids. d6 you did great as usual. sorry I didnt stay for all of it, I was pretty spent.  good job c+b.

only negative thing I heard was vibesquad was too much a rockstar to acknowledge props from a fan and walked away from them as they walked up to him. maybe there was a good reason, but it seemed kinds unthankful and just dissapointing to hear that.

p.s. also glad you found your dog d6!

one of the most "i enjoy playing/can't believe i get to do this" types i've ever met in any sub-sect of musick, and was equally gracious when he thought i was just some fat narc boob delivering a bag of burritos. - no pun intended.

we found him @ the neil road rec. center park -
he was gone monday 1pm until saturday 4pm -
was tired, lost weight, limpy, but went to the vet today and is healthier aside from minor superficial freezer burn paws -
for a hideous bald chihua, he did awesome, maisie couldn't be happier, and our house is once again well-protected.

He escaped from my yard......imagine what it's like to lose your friend's dog.....worst thing to ever happen to me.

I screamed, yodeled, howled and jumped around when I got the news.  This was an INTENSE week.....ending with two phenomenal shows with Aaron.

and yes opinions are like assholes they're honest.

I bet. I'd feel like shit if I lost my friends dog. At least he was recovered!

Had a great time!! Saw a bunch of familiar faces which was cool, it was sick to see the 21+ EDM crowd out and jammin! Only thing that wasn't awesome were the lines at the bar and the bartenders getting mad at people who were frustrated it was taking so long.. but whatever it was packed in there and the vibe was fantastic :D

Vibesquad was amazing!!! 2nd or 3rd track he dropped Jowels which is probably my favorite of his produced tracks and seeing it live was sweeeeet!!! ;D Loved how much energy he had and to see how stoked he was to be playing.. pretty sure he played most of his own original stuff too which was really cool to see how his set progressed, especially since he played some of his new stuff :)

Great job Robotronia and C&B, this party was one to be remembered!
I FUCKING LOVE LIGHT SHOWS!
Roy's a darky.
Peace was so fun! Nate d went to go do a bass drop and punched me in the face!lmao

they were improperly staffed at the Studio, and one of CnB's friends bailed them out by volunteering to help bartend.
when i rolled up initially they told me "no show - powers out", so i cut some projectors and an amp and said i'd get my bm generator if need be - they got it sorted, re-routed almost everything to a single AC, and amazingly nothing tripped electrically.

thanks for supporting this one

that's amazing considering the amount of bass in the room. Must had some good breakers!

NO KIDDING!  I couldn't believe the power didn't go out.  It has every time we've done an EDM show there.

at 10:06 (6 minutes after doors opened) there were already people at the bar...and he was SLOW.  i asked "are you the only bartender tonight?"  He said yes....i said "oh man....you are gonna get destroyed."  I called a bunch of people but then ended up having Fucky's brother DJ.  He saved the night.

Sounds was poppin.  Couldn't really ask for a better gig, really.

our trusty steeds that go to bm,
CnB brought the stage self-powered monitors,
and we set the house system at about 15%.

there was a wackness ground buzz from their dimmer packs - basically the electrical there is wackness due to a never-fixed leaky roof.
