For sure guys... Infected Mushroom is on a whole other level than any DJ. They aren't even really comparable. I am not a big fan of their style of music, but that nite they had me captivated. They were pretty incredible live and they are true artists.
I can understand perhaps I played some music more to the liking of some peoples taste, that in no way makes me "better" than IM. We are all individuals as artists, and how we are viewed is relative to the individual.
For the most part, I am an old tyme vinyl DJ. I play many styles of music from ZZ-Top to Aphrodite. (maybe even in one set) My DJ influences were Z-Trip, DJ P, Rob Swift, Craze, Diggabeatz, and Steez. My music is typically dance oriented though. I will sometimes play (and actually utilize) three to four turn tables. I do sometimes play music digitally when it is something I made or sampled. I also utilize digital technology when playing tracks of unknown producers, local artists, and other "Fader Freekz" artists. I do mostly play on vinyl though.
I have meandered into the world of digital music production a little, but I am admittedly a little behind the times with this shit. Computers still baffle me a little. All I ever really put out production wise was the intro for my first CD. I have played aroud at home on my computer, but not to much avail.
I have played music organically since the age of ten. I played my first show in a bar at the age of ten! I play guitar, bass, drums, and some other random instruments. My aspirations are to produce music using organic instruments, and utilize digital technology to compose them. I would like to get a good electric kit and some other equipment to allow me to play live. That has not come to fruition yet, but my visions are clear, and it is only a matter of time. That doesn't mean I won't stop collecting, and probably playing vinyl though.
Thanks for reading... that was a load. If you actually took the time then word the fuck up yo!
