:siren: Attention all Nevada music lovers!!! :siren:

Cat's Den Productions and The "Fader Freekz", bring to you my most recent mixx project, "The Random Heartz Mixx Vol. 2 and 2.5". It is a revolt to the question, "What do you play?" I play dance music. This mixx includes tracks from artists such as Aphrodite, Paul Oakenfold, Gabriel and Dressden, Damien Marley, Ludacris, Ed Solo, Kaskade, Icey, Fresh, Tilt, etc...

You can also still pick up my classic mixes...

My '05 mixx, ""Freekz in da' Nite"". This one is 100% Nu-Skool rawness... and UtahsDJs.com's most downloaded breaks mixx! ;)

...and my '04 mixx, "The Meow Mixx". Old-school funk, epic breaks remixes, and a little nu-skool... as well as UtahsDJs.com's fourth most downloaded breaks mixx.  :)

Don't miss out on some musical goodness. Mad Love NV!!! Thanks for the view!

It is a revolt to the question, "What do you play?" I play dance music.

ME TOO!!!!  I say the exact same thing.  "Shit That Rocks Crowds"

And when people get all stoked for being able to play 5 different versions of house/techno or any genre, haha.   Good for you I can match beats and count bars too. BFD.  If i were to answer that like random douche DJ it would be:

00s House, 90s House, 80s House,  Tech House, Techno, Detroit Techno, Minimal, Disco, New Disco, Italo Disco, Rock, Indie Rock, Indie Dance, New Wave, Pop, Rap, Dancehall, Reggae, R&B, Baltimore Club, Baile Funk, Dubstep (just started).

Take that you douchey genre-masters!!!

God the real talk just can not stop. I should get paid to demistify everything for all of the douchey djs in this town.  I could quit my day job!

And
I'm gonna download this when I get home, I like your outlook on djing.

Seriously though!!! Any DJ knows that when you tell somebody you are a DJ, they ask, "What kind of music do you play?" Granted, in the beginning I would answer this question with, "breaks". Later on I had the realization that there is no need to 'genre'lize yourself, as I call it. Never set limitations on your abilities. I will play anything as long as the moment so suits. I enjoy all kinds of music, from all over the world. Why not attempt to open people to something outside their typical playlist?

yea, i like a lot of genre's too... but unless you are clever about your transitions, it can really kill the vibe and sound awful.

nah I agree transitioning is key for myself, the types of genres you have with the selection, and how your "story goes"

If I were trying to classify this.

"breaks" To "prog trance"

I give you the Fruity MIX!

It's all about that "story". It's the journey that the music takes you on that creates that story. The music has to keep your attention though.

I made this mixx over a year ago, and I will be the first to admit there are parts I would change now. That is good because it means I have grown as a DJ since then. I do think the "story" flows well in both mixes, but can change somewhat abruptly once in a while. In order to grow as artists, we must admit our faults so we can learn and grow from them.

What I hope to do for my next studio project is make multiple mixes, of multiple genres, but have each disc themed to a certain feel. Ya' know... I would make a Jungle, 2-Step, and Speed Garage mixx... a Dub-step, Nu-Skool, and D&B mixx... a trance, breaks, house, and dub mixx... and who knows what else. It's an idea in progress.

Making a multi-genre mixx is VERY different than playing multi-genres live. When live, it is alot easier to keep peoples attention. On a disc, people have less to visualy entertain them and they are likely to skip through it if they don't like the style of music. You have to keep things moving to keep thier attention.

I am most certainly proud of these mixes, but am ready to take it to the next level.

Thanks again for the listen and input! If any of you guys have music posted, I will try and find it, and give a listen. Word...

^^^

Thanks!!! That's what I have been trying to say.  ;) Hahaha

Back in September I had the pleasure of opening for Infected Mushroom at a show out here. The setup was dope, the soud was amazing, and the crowd was incredible. I dropped Til' I Come right near the end of my set and the crowd went bonkers! I hadn't heard that song played out for awhile and I think I played it just in time...

I really want to find that old "Til' I Break" remix of that track. It is the ultimate "make a mash-up of ATB" record. I don't know who produced the remix though.

That reminds me... I wanted to notate that this mixx was made with 100% vinyl. I do, in fact, OWN, all of these records. So my apologies for any vinyl pops/sounds.

Hobbz is bad ass, he is my favorite local dj in SLC.

These cd's are my favorite, I don't think I could ever get bored of them , they are the shit.

Him opening for Infected Mushroom was the most amazing thing I have ever seen in 10 years of going to parties, it was fucking dope as shit, you guys should see him live, he owns the vibe, and the crowd, you just don't see the crowd and the dj connect like that anymore, it was crazy.

Some of us that were there thought he outdid IM, and they rocked it. Fun stuff.  ;D Was a hell of a night!

And all on Vinyl, hell yeah... :)

One of my favorite locals in SLC as well, this guy can throw done just about anything, and trust me, you will enjoy it as much as I do.
This guy has put a lot of hard work into his music, and the set he dropped at Night of the Pharaohs here in SLC was incredible, I still think you played better than IM.

Well thank you!!! Better than IM!?!?! I suppose our tastes are relative. Perhaps more up your alley, but they are certainly more talented than I am. None the less, I appreciate the comment/support. I do put alot of work into what I do, as well as alot of heart and soul.

Come see me at Meltdown III on April 24th! You can check out my MySpace for info.

saying a dj is better than IM IS a bold statement... do you produce, or play original material / do LIVE PA?

i don't even really like the psy music, but those guys are musical gods....
