New original track featuring MC Agustus...
« on: April 19, 2006, 02:06:23 AM »
I put up two brand spankin' new tracks on my myspace page. I'm really stoked to finally do a collaboration with my brother aka Agustus thElephant.
The track is called "Sparkplug".

There is another track up there called "Quirkster" which I like to compare to being stuck inside a fishbowl in outerspace.

These tracks fall into the new style I have been working with, which is sort of a mid-tempo funky psy breaks realm, but also branch out in a bit of a different direction. Hope ya enjoy (if ya listen) and may the beats be with you.

Yeah, I would like to play around with some scratching, but I don't have room to set up my decks right now.

I wouldn't call it hip hop. It's much faster. Some people would call it bass-hop, but whatever. It's at 110 bpm.

yea... i noticed it is faster... but speed does not necessarily make it a different style of music. crunk, south music is slower than average bpm... sometimes as slow as 50 bpm... and it's still considered hip hop/rap. if it has a broken beat and an mc... i consider it a form of hip hop.

and i actually meant colaborating with people... i produce hip hop myself... along with many other styles, like reggae, breaks, dnb, house... many different forms... and they all sound great. i really want to start meeting and hangin out with people who produce thier own music... we should work on somethin? i got the scratchin skills already... so no waste of time... just a thought..

No, you are right. It is definitely hip-hop. I believe if you wanted to label the track specifically, you could label it bass-hop. But that's if you believe in genres.

Personally, I think there are two types of people in this world. Those who label people into two groups, and those who don't.

Anyway, yeah I'm down for whatever man. Shoot me a pm with your
phone #.
