So I've been into the rave scene for over 4 years now. My first rave was RED back when I was still a little child. I'm turning 18 in November and this summer has been a crock of shit! The only raves I have been able to attend are awful. I mean there was like 50 people at no mas p-tots! I know you guys are all excited about the 18+ thing but I HATE club sin. I'd rather go to a rave like RED or Nowloween anyday. You guys should thing of the people that have been with you for years but aren't quite 18. It's not fair to us.

I'm tired of assumptions. I went to raves for the people, the music, the atmosphere. You can't get it anywhere else. Not from club sin, not from some little ass rave full of little ass kids. I appriciate the rave scene being "more grown up" and all but I was just saying I wish things were different. There is no reason to be so hostile.

The city will pretty much not permit anything at venues that would be receptive to all ages events and that leaves only professional events that do not cater to an under 18 crowd.

Floppy's comments are harsh, but absolutely true. When all ages events were happening all the time, the city cracked down because there was a lot of irresponsibility in the under age crowd and those kids pushed all the older kids out because they were tired of it becoming normal to see a 13 year old kid curled up in a speaker.

I do feel some sympathy because I started partying when I was 17, and I feel bad for the kids on the fence who can handle going to a show and aren't ridiculously under age. But most of the kids in the scene just fucked it up and this is how it is now.

Bassnectar at the Grand Sierra will be all ages.
My New Years show in Tahoe will be 18+.


Unless it's a concert-style environment (a la Bassnectar), my gigs will NEVER be all ages, mostly because I don't want the liability and also I think the music I promote doesn't really appeal to the all ages crowd. 

I start going to events like this when I was 15 or 16...so I understand.  Times are different now, however.
